| Research & Development |
The Flower Association of Queensland Inc (FAQI) is committed to developing the Queensland and Australian cut flower and foliage industry and recognises that that to achieve this, sound research and development (R&D) work needs to be undertaken to address the issues constraining industry growth and putting pressure on enterprise profitability.
FAQI has a number of initiatives underway many of which are managed under the FAQI Research and Development Joint Subcommittee. The committee operates under a formal agreement with the Queensland Department of Primary Industry and Fisheries (DPI&F). Within this agreement FAQI agree to participate and where negotiated assist in funding R&D work within the industry. DPI&F provide resources (including staff time) to assist in facilitating the development and implementation of research projects.
The R&D Joint Subcommittee is currently made up of:
Mr Brian Shannon (FAQI President and commercial flower grower)
Mr Lodi Pameijer (FAQI Treasurer, FAQI R&D Subcommittee Chair)
