What is fertigation?
Fertigation is the use of an irrigation system to deliver fertilisers and can be an efficient and effective way to supply nutrients to a flower or foliage crop. A significant benefit of fertigation is that it can provide an optimal match between the plant’s nutrient requirements and the nutrient supply in a form ready for immediate uptake. Other benefits include reduced fertiliser use which helps to minimise environmental pollution, and less manual spreading of fertilisers which saves on fuel consumption for the operation of machinery.
