Non-nutritional stresses can cause nutrient-like symptoms in leaves, flowers or other tissues. However, the resemblance is often only superficial and basic differences in the patterns can be seen when the specimen is examined closely.
Non-nutritional symptoms can arise from environmental stresses like frost, heat, drought, waterlogging, or wind, or from physiological stress like root injury or spray burns, herbicides, genetic abnormalities, virus infection or insect injury.
