Part 1: Cultural control
This is the first in a two-part series on the management of fungus gnats. This article will focus on their biology and the cultural practices which can be used to reduce their populations. Such strategies create growing areas which are less suitable for the pest and hence numbers tend to be relatively low. The next article will focus on active management strategies, biological and chemical control.
