A survey was conducted at the Royal Queensland Show (Ekka) in Brisbane, 8-17 August 2013. Responses were collected from those visiting the show hall and willing to complete a survey. 710 surveys were completed.
The show is a general entertainment and fun event, with a broad demographic. The FAQI stand was inside a hall including farming, food, beekeeping, dog shows, a radio station, gardening and a live stage, so the visitors were not strongly or exclusively interested in flowers or horticulture. This implies that the results could be taken as representative of the general population.
