RWUE(4)

Water and Energy efficiency of flower growing enterprises in far North Queensland.

RWUE(4) is a 4 year program (2009-2013) funded by the Department of Environment and Resource Management (DERM) to assist flower producers in far north Queensland to optimise water and energy use efficiency.

RWUE(4) provides growers with practical assistance to improve irrigation efficiency, manage water quality outcomes, and fertilizer inputs plus other farm management issues. The program objectives are to:

Current Projects

Evaluation of irrigation & pumping system efficiency for flower producers

As part of the new RWUE(4) project, FAQI will be assisting growers in optimising the use of their pumping system and in-field applications of water.

The pump evaluations will help growers to identify problems and potential improvements in their irrigation systems.
